Craft Fair Update

We went to the craft fair last week and we did okay. We sold some of our hand-made items and some of our cards... I think we might have some people who are interested in coming to our classes which is great too. All in all I think it was a successful day and who knows who might call us later after picking up our cards!

Hopefully someone will be inspired and want to come out and learn more and join us for fun with stamping and crafting and letting our creative juices flow. That is what it is all about and when we have the most fun... We love meeting new people and having them join us.

Candy Tins

This is one of my favorite projects that I have made yet... I think that they are WAY CUTE and can be used for anything. I am going to use these ones for Visiting Teaching this month but they can totally be custom-made for any holiday or any theme so easily.

The candies are wrapped with the paper to match and the tin holds about 12 little candies so it is a complete gift. I hope the ladies like them as much as I do.

Mother's Day Frame

I made these frames also for the Craft Fair since Mother's Day is just around the corner. I think that any mom would love to get one of these. They are made with chipboard and adorned with ribbon and buttons.

Candles

I made some candles for the upcoming Craft Fair that I will be at this coming Thursday. I was excited to play with some of the Rub-Ons that I had and I was able to put them to good use on these candles. I really liked how they turned out. I liked the colored ones on the white candles and I liked how the white stood out on the red candles. Very BOLD. Hopefully they will sell, sell, sell.....

Gift Card Holder

This is a very cute gift card holder that was made at the Birthday Stamp Camp. It can be made with a boy or girl theme and can also be changed up to represent any other holiday that you need....for example, a tree for Christmas, or hearts for Valentine's Day or an Anniversary... it is very universal and easy to make. The polka-dot paper in the picture represents the gift card.

Envelope Card

Envelope/ Pouch Card
Front view

Open card

We made these cards at the Birthday Stamp Camp and they were a hit. Not only are they a card but they hold a treat or a surprise in the back as well. They are adorable and way easy to make. They take only one piece of 12 x 12 double-sided piece of paper.

***If anyone ever wants directions for any of the projects or cards... or wants me to make them a sample or make them cards or scrapbook pages or something please let me know. Leave me a comment or send me an e-mail at Durban51@yahoo.com I would be happy to see what we could arrange.

Falling behind....

I have not posted on here in FOREVER!!! I was totally excited to start this blog and was going to stay on top of it and post pictures of all of the things that I make because I really do make stuff constantly but then life got in the way and I have been so overwhelmed with all kinds of stuff.

I am going to try to do better!!! Haven't we all said that before!

In the past few weeks. I have been working on all kinds of stuff. I did a stamp camp birthday party which was way fun, and very successful. I have also been putting some things together for a craft fair that I will be at next Thursday. Hopefully that goes well also. I have of course been doing my regular Friday night card classes, and my Thursday night Scrapbook classes too. I told you I have been doing stuff I just haven't had the time to put the posts on here....

So... On with the posts!!!

Antique Egg

I wanted to share the story of this Easter egg. I made this egg for my grandma and grandpa when I was in elementary school. I am not sure exactly when, but it was a LONG time ago. My grandpa died a couple years ago and my grandma died this past December. We have pretty much finished cleaning out the entire house and what did we find but a box that said "Aranne's Egg". We opened it up and this was what was inside it. That is the kind of lady that my grandma was. She kept everything. She was not a pack-rat, but she kept everything that her grandkids made for her that is a definite. All of the eggs that are in there are eggs that the grandkids had made over the years and she had kept them and stored them in there as well. It was really neat to be able to get it out and display it at my house this Easter. I now have something that I made when I was tiny but I also have a great memory of my grandma too.

The egg is made by paper-mache style but instead of wrapping the balloon with newspaper, you use string and let it dry and then pop then balloon. It is a really easy and fun project to do with little kids.

Easter Basket

I know this is a little late but I had to share the cute little Easter baskets that I made. This was made with one sheet of 12 x 12 double sided paper, some eyelets and some ribbon and that is all. They are super easy to do and way cute.

I filled the eggs with some candy and made them for the ladies that I Visit Teach. They loved them.
I think I might change the paper colors and use them again later in the year for another holiday and fill them with different things... I am thinking they would be cute as Halloween buckets or Christmas buckets??

Happy St. Patrick's Day

So besides sending out St. Patrick's Day cards I decided that I would make some treats and take them to my old co-workers and to my dance class tonight. I filled some themed baggies with some popcorn and made some tags that read: "Have a popping good day, buttered with love". It is just fun to bring treats to people and I like making them as well.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to Everyone!

Playing Catch-up

On Friday I decided that I was not only going to spend some time doing the regular cards that I do but I was also going to play catch up with some scrapbooking. I am SO far behind, as I think many of us are, and I just decided I would spend the day trying to catch up a bit. I think I did a pretty good job. I got a few layouts done and I was happy with them. They were not too fancy, but guess what, THEY ARE DONE!

BIRTHDAY BASH: This was my dad's 60th birthday party in September 2007. We had a big BBQ and pool party at the house and tons of people from California made the trip all the way to Vegas for it. It was a blast. My dad really enjoyed himself and that was what was important.

TRICK OR TREAT: This was "Trunk or Treat" this Halloween over at the church. We usually don't go or do much for Halloween at all but this year our friends (the Young's) and their little ones really wanted us to come out and go with them so we did. So all of us got dressed up and went over to hand out candy and let the little ones get some for themselves. We ended up having a good time and seeing everyone else in their costumes as well.

A PERFECT DAY: This was this July in Utah at a family reunion. We decided to have an impromptu photo shoot on the back porch of the cabin and these were some of the nicest shots of the whole weekend. It was a great weekend with Dan's entire extended family. We were able to just get away and enjoy the outdoors and spend time together.

GO BIG BEN: This is just a tribute to BIG BEN and Steelers football. Sundays and football season has changed at the Urbancic household that is for sure. A few years ago I never would have dreamed that I would own a football jersey and get excited for a game, but Oh, I do now! As long as the Steelers are playing we are allowed to watch football and I definitely get into it and cheer BIG BEN on.
So that is what I accomplished on Friday - I think I did pretty good. You can see that I don't do journaling very good on my pages, but as I sat here and typed this up I thought "how come you can type on here and not do your journaling?" I think I will just go back and copy what I wrote on here and put it on my pages.

Friday 3-14-07

So this week we finished off our Easter cards with two more fun cards, and one extra card just because.

This one was fun just to color and was very sweet. The chicks are adorable!

I LOVE this card. The cute newborn chicks popping out of their eggs! Who wouldn't love to get this card? And I think the colors are perfect for Easter.

This was our extra card for the night and it will work for any occasion.

Friday 3-7-08

These were tonight's cards. We made a fun St. Patrick's Day Card, a whimsical Spring card and a really cute Easter Card. I think all of them turned out really great! I think I am going to be mass producing the Easter card to send out to everyone that I know. I already have my St. Patrick's Day cards done so I just have to get them addressed and then will go into the mail, so this one was just an extra!

Uncle's Birthday

A buckle card with a tropical theme is what I decided on for my uncle's upcoming birthday. It went out in the mail yesterday and I hope he likes it. These are fun to make and really easy. Masculine cards are always a challenge but I think this one turned out alright.

Letter Perfect

For months I have been trying to figure out what saying or quote I wanted to put above my dinning room window to fill the empty space and this weekend I finally found it. I think it is perfect and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out. It totally defines US and OUR HOME. It reads: Together is our favorite place to be.

I really like the font and the fun feeling that it gives the room. I am very happy with it and it has inspired me to do more. I will HAVE to find the perfect one for the nursery when that time comes!
